Beyond its title sponsorship of the TCS New York City Marathon, TCS is the creator of the race’s official mobile app, available in both the Apple and Google Play stores. Now entering the fourth year of our partnership, we continue to collaborate with New York Road Runners to make the TCS New York City Marathon the most technologically advanced and socially engaged marathon experience for runners, fans and families alike. In short, an experience that will be a memory forever.
The 2016 TCS New York City Marathon race app provided even more exciting, race-specific features for runners and their support community to keep track of the event. New this year:
The mobile app’s enhanced tracking capabilities is a unique feature to the app and isn’t available on any other marathon mobile application in the world.
The 2016 app was ranked as the top free sports app and featured as a best new app in the Apple App Store on Race Day for the second consecutive year.
The TCS NYC Marathon mobile app was downloaded a record 317,000 times (most ever for the TCS NYC Marathon or any other marathon) and generated increased usage of 70 million data points accessed from 53 million in 2015.

TCS Supports NYRR Mighty Milers
TCS is the official proud partner of NYRR’s Mighty Milers, a running program for kids of all fitness levels from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. It’s designed to get kids active and healthy, while building their self-esteem and teaching them to make and reach personal goals.

TCS launched this internal health initiative in April 2012, encouraging employees to embrace a healthy lifestyle. It is built on the basic philosophy that ‘healthy individuals make up healthy organizations.’ To date, it has encouraged more than 50,000 global employees and their families to exercise and log activities to earn rewards. In turn, TCS has matched hours logged by donating to a range of local health based charities.
In the lead up to the 2015 TCS New York City Marathon, more than 2,500 US employees participated in walking, running and yoga during the month of September as part of the company’s fitness initiatives. TCS matched hours logged with further funds to support NYRR’s Mighty Milers youth fitness program.
